Having problems with fridge , when on mains electric it tries to go onto gas although the mains voltage is ok.
Anybody know of a good technician in Suffolk or Essex

Not sure if your van has the same set up but on mine I switch the gas off when on mains and ensure the igniter switch is also off. Then I connect and put the green switch on for mains on the fridge.

The fridge i have is fully auto in energy selection. I have only one switch on and off.Thanks for your reply.

I really think there comes a point when manufacturers should stop adopting ever more complex and unnecessary design features in their products. For years we have been capable of switching between three energy modes on our fridges. And I am still capable of using the three switches!

I am sure it is as a result of some over-zealous "elf 'n safety" twit getting involved that these design features come about. Undoubtedly someone with only a theoretical association with Camper Van equipment usage!

Like modern cars, too much technical trickery has made them a nightmare to deal with when they go wrong.

Thanks for all your replies, the problem i seem to have is that most fridge engineers can service a fridge but have no knowledge of how the printed circuits works least being able to test them for problems, there answere is put a new part in to see if the problem has been solved.

It seems, from your symptoms, that the motherboard may need to be replaced. Probably easy and cheap, and not hard to source, I imagine.
