Abacus Motorhome Hire, based in Dorset on the south coast of England has expanded its fleet, and revealed that its weekday and weekend hires have risen by 35% this year compared to the same period last year.
The firm is spending around £700,000 updating its hire fleet for the fourth year running. It is replacing ten of its 2008 registered motorhomes which will increase their hire fleet size from 30 to 36 vehicles. The 17 new motorhomes have been ordered from the tried and tested range of the Swift Group, and are expected to be delivered before Easter 2011 ready in time for the busy summer season.
Earlier this year, Abacus also expanded its capabilities by launching a dedicated motorhome centre to facilitate hire, sales, repairs, servicing and valeting of their motorhomes. The company which was launched in 1985 not only hires but also sells motorhomes, and offers try-before-you-buy rebates to customers who hire with a view to purchasing.
Managing Director Dave Wolfenden said that 'the company’s location on the south coast close to the ports of Southampton and Portsmouth and also the New Forest gives it a competitive edge, and that it is already seeing promising business for 2011 and expects good utilisation of the new fleet'.
