Fixed Roof Gallery
A Motorhome constructed in a standard van body without alterations.  This gives the advantages of a  low height and easier  parking and handling.  Not ideal for long term use unless you are 4'6" tall.  Height barriers are not normally a problem either.

High Top Gallery
A Motorhome constructed in a standard van body where the manufacturer fits a permanent high roof section to the van.  This also gives the advantages of easier  parking and handling similar to the fixed roof but with added height inside.

Elevating Roof Gallery
Sometimes also called a 'Pop Top' the converter cuts away the van roof and fits a roof section that can be raised up when the vehicle is parked to gain increased headroom.  Often a bunk is fitted in the elevated roof section, although it may be a bit small for a fully grown adult.  It has the advantages of the 'High Top', without it's disadvantages.

A-Class Gallery
This is a purpose built motorhome where the manufacturer builds the body onto a new chassis/engine unit.  The advantages are that the interior is more spacious because the 'cab' area is usually part of the accommodation and many have a 'pull-down' double bed above the front seats which can  be left made up, as do most of the Hymers in this class.

C-Class Gallery
The manufacturer uses the chassis & cab of the base vehicle and builds a new body onto the back of it, these make up the largest proportion of motorhomes. The part of the body extending over the cab is known as the 'Luton' and is more often as not a  sleeping area

De-Mountable Gallery
A dual purpose motorhome with a specially made body that fits onto the back of a pickup type vehicle.   These have the advantage that you can remove the body at a campsite and then use the pickup as you would  normally.

Fifth Wheel Gallery
A dual purpose motorhome usually using a pick up truck with an articulated coupling, towing a close coupled caravan type trailer.  These tend to be of the larger type and have the advantages of the de-mountables above but the living portion cannot be used whilst on the move.

Trailer Tent (Camptrailer) Gallery
These
are lightweight units with sides that collapse for towing and storage,  they combine the
experience of open-air tent camping with sleeping comforts, basic conveniences and weather protection found in other motorhomes and RVs.

Caravan Gallery
A living van towed by a vehicle using a ball type tow hitch

Canal and River Boat Gallery

Miscellaneous Motorhome Gallery
Any motorhome which does not fit into the categories above.
